What we're eating this week:
Monday: Chicken Chili Tacos in the slow cooker were on the menu. We have a busy week with lots of sports so these were a mama's dream. :)
Tuesday: Sheet Tray Supper...(Mama had Girl's Night Out) and this was so easy to make on my way out the door for the rest of the family.
Wednesday: Another early baseball game means dinner OUT.
Thursday: Clean out the refrigerator kind of night...that means pretty much anything.
Friday: We'll be dining in NEW ORLEANS!!
What I'm Reminiscing About:
All the Texas kiddos with pictures in the blue bonnets takes me back to this year...when baby Bowen posed in the blue bonnets (and totally hammed up the photo shoot).
What I'm Loving:
All the baseball is still happening! And I'm still loving it.
What We've Been Up To:
Clearly they were WAY too close to the t.v. but my kids are into watching GoNoodle on YouTube. Have you heard of it? I think they do it during school for "Brain Breaks" and then they asked to watch at home. I feel much better about them watching something on television because they're MOVING the entire time.
What I'm Dreading:
Nothing at the moment...I'm SO HAPPY to report I FINALLY CLEANED OUT MY CLOSET. I got rid of a ridiculous amount of clothes I wasn't wearing anymore and there's so much room.
What I'm Working On:
We're working on putting the finishing touches on Ebby Lee's room.
What I'm Excited About:
Heading out of town on Friday with this guy and experiencing New Orleans!
What I'm watching/reading:
I'm reading this one right now...only a couple chapters in and I'm really liking it. Total chick-lit. :)
I feel like I'm going to make some people angry, but I have to tell you...Tab and I started watching The Office on Netflix and I just can't. The boss, Michael(-I think?), really frustrates me. He's so mean, inappropriate, and rude. I think we were watching Season One, Episode Three, and I told Tab how I was ready for something to happen-but he was like-"No, I think this is the whole show?". You guys! I think I'm going to have to hang up my "The Office" watching boots...I just don't get the hype for this show?! Has anyone else felt this way? (I'd already written this blog post and I brought this up with some baseball moms and I wasn't the only one not a fan of the show.)
What I'm Listening To:
Yes, yes...still on repeat. #still
What I'm Wearing:
It's hard to see but I'm wearing white jeans. If you're viewing this picture, that needs to be noted. haha! I got this peplum top (I'm digging all the peplum right now) a while back (but it's sold out-this one is similar) and am a big fan. Paired it with these white jeans and leopard sandals.
Last week, I shared some wedding guest dress options for the weekend and you guys voted for your favorite. I'll be wearing the winner soon!
Earlier this month, I shared some great dress options for Easter, graduations, weddings, etc. If you need a new dress, check out this post.
What I'm Doing This Weekend:
NEW ORLEANS BOUND!
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month:
*End of the School Year-my kids actually go until beginning of June but the end of year hype starts in May.
Hope you ladies have a great Wednesday! XOXO

It's Tuesday, which means I'm showing-and-telling with Andrea. We're sharing any and all grown up parties. You know what I learned while working on this blog post? I don't throw enough grown up parties. Let me rephrase that-I don't really throw any grown up parties. I'm hoping it's just a phase of life thing. Maybe this is something I should work on?!
It's gonna be really short and sweet because I don't have much to show you...haha!
Marla (the most fabulous party-thrower in our family) threw Tab a football birthday party. It was super cute, complete with eye black, party favors, and tailgating food.
A couple years ago I hosted a birthday party for Marla (at her house because she invited neighbors-so it seemed easier for everyone) and coined it her "Favorite Things" party. We had some of her favorite foods in tow, favorite friends, and favorite things. I brought enough of her "favorite things"-all different- for each party guest to leave with something that was one of Marla's favorites.
I shared recently about the Favorite Things Night at my house-notice I didn't use the term "party", but I'm including in this post anyway. :) We all brought a couple of our favorite things and left with some new favorites.
Hope you have the best day! I'm off to plan a big party...working on the details now. Only one thing is for sure-it's for GROWN UPS. ;)

If that picture doesn't make you smile on a Monday, I don't think anything will. :)
It's no secret the second Bowen and Ashby Shull met they became fast friends. The same has been true when it comes to Bowen's relationship with Madeley. If you remember one of the first names she began saying was, "Bobo" for "Bowen". Partly because she's a big Bowen fan and partly because she learned if she screams his name he'll give her a little more personal space. I can't blame her one bit. To say it mildly, Bowen is a little Madeley-obsessed. If you've seen a picture of Madeley then you've probably had the same thoughts Bowen has had. He "just wants to squeeze her cheeks" because "she's just so cute". Those are DIRECT quotes from four-year-old Bowen. He's had to learn a tough lesson in self-control over the last few months. We definitely aren't there yet-he's a work in progress, but it must be noted he's showing Madeley ALL THE LOVE out of the goodness of his heart. He genuinely loves that girl.
A few months ago, (I'm sure after telling Bowen to get back) Shay and I talked about what a blog post this would make. I've been saving some pictures for this day.
A little progression...getting close to her, kissing her, and touching her cheek. Luckily, Madeley was focused on that game!
The three amigos :)
They were dancing their little hearts out at the valentine dance.
He has no idea what personal space is when it comes to this girl. He's told me before he "just wants to smell her cheek".
One of our first lunch dates...a fun little friendship was brewing.
I'm pretty sure in the pictures above he decided to share his Gatorade and that was the way to her heart.
READY, SET, GO!
He "just wanted to touch her cheek".
He loves this girl so much. And I think it's cute how he views her as so little. To him, she's a baby and he's such a big boy. :)
I think (for the most part) the feeling is totally mutual.
It's safe to say Bowen isn't the only Slaughter boy with a little Madeley obsession. :)
And we make sure we spread out all the love. This girl is on the receiving end too.
What do you think? Is Bowen mildly obsessed or what?! ha! Trust me-I'm a grown woman who has to practice all the self-control when I'm around Madeley (and her cheeks) as well. Can we really blame him?!
